Heartline Palestinians in Jakarta

Indonesia has always supported the independence of the Palestinians to achieve independence. Support was expressed by many statements and actions, one of them by holding Palestine Day event.
Support was delivered on the day Palestinians on Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Institute of Language and Professional Education LIA, Pangadegan, Jakarta.
In that event, two Palestinian students studying at language schools LIA gave a presentation on the situation in Palestine, ranging from history to the Israeli occupation, including the refugees and the construction of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory.
At the end of the event, one of the students of Palestinian origin, Abdallah Barghouithi, tells her story when Israeli forces arrested and detained for 50 days about his political activities with Fatah.
Arrest of the first child of six children was conducted at her family home in Ramallah.When arrested, he got an unpleasant treatment from Israeli forces, such as being beaten and handcuffed his hands always. Abdallah freed after 50 days in jail Israel.
Students who earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Beirut, Lebanon, was elected to learn Indonesian in Jakarta. The 25-year-old student will not return to Palestine after completing studies in Jakarta.
The reason, he would join the Palestinian foreign ministry, and will be based in Indonesia. "But could I be placed in other countries," he added. Abdallah also recalled the difficulties he experienced when going out of Palestinian territory to go to Indonesia.
"There were many checkpoints. Whether you can get out of there determined by the mood of people who inspect us," he added. His own family is now relatively safe to live in Palestine. One brother worked as a teacher, and others are still in school.
In the event themed "Humanitarian Situation of Palestine", the Palestinian ambassador to Indonesia, Fariz Nafi 'Mehdawi Atieh, expressed his pride to see the students give presentations in Indonesian. "This moment reminds us of society's commitment to help Indonesia in Palestinian society," said Mehdawi.
Meanwhile, Head of Education and Training Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Darmansjah Djumala, set the program's Day is a day of celebration Palestine Palestine established by UN Resolution 1977. Palestine Day event is a continuation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in education and training of Palestinian diplomats.
So far Indonesia has held diplomatic training for the ten Palestinian officials and diplomatic training in 2008 for five senior Palestinian ambassador in 2009. "We have more soft power is needed because Palestinians have good and trained in the military," said Darmansjah.
